1. Overview

QuantLens Data Systems is a Canadian data provider specializing in curated, ML-ready datasets built from public and institutional sources. We transform raw government and regulatory filings into analysis-ready data packs for quantitative research, algorithmic trading, and AI/ML applications.

Our products span federal contracts, clinical trials, patents, SEC filings, and cryptocurrency market data. All datasets are enriched with computed features, validated through rigorous QA processes, and delivered in standardized formats (Apache Parquet).

2. Data Sources

QuantLens datasets are derived exclusively from legally accessible public and institutional sources:

SEC EDGAR Form 4 insider transactions, 13F filings, corporate disclosures

FDA Drug approvals, clinical trial results, regulatory actions

USPTO Patent grants, applications, citations, assignments

ClinicalTrials.gov Trial registrations, outcomes, sponsor information

USASpending.gov Federal contract awards, obligations, modifications

NIH Reporter Research grants, funding allocations

Crypto Exchanges Public trade data, order flow (via official APIs)

Yahoo Finance Public equity prices, historical OHLCV data

We do not engage in unauthorized scraping of private systems, circumvention of access controls, or acquisition of data through illicit means.

3. Legal Basis for Monetization

Our commercial right to distribute these datasets is based on the following principles:

Public domain sources: U.S. government data (SEC, FDA, USPTO, federal contracts) is generally not subject to copyright and is freely available for commercial use.
Publicly accessible APIs: Cryptocurrency exchange data is obtained through official public APIs under their terms of service.
Value-added transformation: QuantLens adds substantial value through aggregation, normalization, enrichment, labeling, quality assurance, and documentation.
No proprietary source violations: We do not redistribute data from proprietary vendors or subscription-only sources.

Note: While underlying source data is public, our curated datasets, computed features, documentation, and quality assurance methodologies are proprietary to QuantLens.

4. Personal Data in Products

Our datasets are designed for institutional and market research, not consumer profiling. Personal data handling:

Incidental personal data: Some datasets contain names of company officers, patent inventors, clinical trial investigators, or government contract recipients. This information is part of the public record.
No consumer profiles: We do not build marketing lists, consumer behavior profiles, or individual tracking databases.
Business context only: Personal names appear only in their professional/business capacity as disclosed in public filings.
No sensitive categories: We do not intentionally include health data, financial data, or other sensitive personal information about private individuals.

5. Security & Storage

QuantLens maintains appropriate security measures to protect data integrity:

Cloud infrastructure: Data is stored on secure cloud platforms (Google Cloud Storage, Netlify) with encryption at rest and in transit.
Access control: Production data access is limited to authorized personnel on a least-privilege basis.
Customer delivery: Customers receive data through authenticated, time-limited signed URLs or authenticated dashboard downloads.
Audit logging: Access and download events are logged for security monitoring.
SHA-256 manifests: All delivered files include cryptographic checksums for integrity verification.

6. Compliance with Privacy Regulations

QuantLens aligns with GDPR, CCPA, and PIPEDA principles where applicable:

Data minimization: We include only information necessary for the stated analytical purpose.
Purpose limitation: Data is collected and processed for research, analytics, and ML applications.
Transparency: Data sources and processing methods are documented in product documentation.
User rights: Individuals who appear in our datasets and believe their information was included in error may contact us for review.
